About me
Hi! I’m El Rice (they/them)
as a musician, teacher, concert producer, and multi-disciplinary creator, I am comfortable wearing many hats, often at the same time.
Currently based in denver, co, I have been arranging, performing, and recording my own original music since 2013. I perform solo, with my band Fables of the fall, and as one half of poetry/sonic improvisation duo shrouded haven. check out active projects to learn more!

in 2018, I discovered my passion for teaching when I was introduced to it as an ethnomusicology graduate student at the university of Illinois, chapaign-urbana. since then, I co-founded and led a Brazilian music ensemble, taught undergraduate music courses, planned and led a variety of workshops, and taught private lessons for adults and kids.

throughout my career, I have seen the need for accessible and inclusive spaces for folks to share and experience music together. I have partnered with a variety of organizations, primarily educational institutions and arts non-profits, to try to create more opportunities for emerging Artists, students, and creatives of all backgrounds to flourish. I’ve also been involved in creating AND facilitating programs aimed at improving mental health through mindfulness.
RECENT PROJECTS INCLUDE SWALLOW HILL MUSIC’S INDIEWOOD STREET FESTIVAL (ENGLEWOOD, CO; June, 2026) WHERE I SERVED AS EVENT LEAD, PROJECT MANAGER AND ON-SITE COORDINATOR.
